Kidepo National Park wildlife

Animals of all hues and shades can be found in Kidepo Valley National Park, a popular tourist destination. Mammals of many kinds live in large herds across Kidepo’s stunning meadows and forests. Even though there was political unrest in Uganda in the 1980s and some species, like rhinos, were hunted to extinction, Kidepo is still home to over 70 different species of mammals.

A handful of the rarest wildlife species, such as cheetahs, maneless zebras, kudus, oryx, and gazelles, may only be seen in Kidepo Valley when visiting Uganda. Lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, elands, roan antelopes, stripped hyenas, jackals, hyenas, zebras, reedbucks, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, and arguably the largest herds of buffalos are among the animal species that are frequently sighted on a Uganda safari to Kidepo.
