Overview
This primate tour takes you to Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest National park in the SouthWest for 3 days of adventure that you ought not to miss. Nyungwe national park boasts for 12 primate species with the endangered chimps and troops of monkeys that total to about 350 individuals. The tour will enable you to experience the jungle through chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk that will not leave you the same. Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: pick up and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park.
Depending on your location in Kigali city either in a hotel or at the airport, you will be met by our driver guide who will welcome you and brief you about the tour. After a precise briefing, embark on a 6-7 hours’ drive to Nyungwe Forest national park with fascinating views of Virunga Mountains on the way. On arrival at the park, check in at the booked lodge for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Meal plan: full board.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking.
After morning breakfast from the hotel, drive to the park headquarters for a short briefing and head straight to the forest in search of the endangered chimpanzees. You will enjoy the chattering from the chimpanzees as they jump from one tree to another in the due course of the activity. This will take you about for 3 – 5 hours and 1 hour for videos and pictures for a story to tell back home. Return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for a trail to the waterfalls in Isimo. This will take you bout 4 hours walking to and from the forest with views of monkeys, rivers, and trees to mention but a few. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Canopy walk and transfer back to Kigali.
Following a morning breakfast, set out for a canopy walk across the forest with rewarding views of animals like monkeys and different birds that live in the canopies. Return to the lodge and prepare for a transfer back to Kigali city with en-route lunch at Lake Kivu. This marks the end of the primate tour.
