4 Days Chimps & Wildlife Safari

Overview

The 4 days trip gives you a chance to explore chimpanzees and wildlife in Uganda’s ideal parks. Situated in Western Uganda, lies one of Uganda’s ultimate national parks Kibale Forest where the trip takes you too. Also called the Primate capital, the park is characterized by forest vegetation cover and grasslands that act as a hearthstone to over 60 mammals, 280 bird species and a good number of chimpanzees which the park an ideal destination. The trip also takes you to Queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife viewing through game drives and a boat cruise.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale Forest national park.

From your desired location either Kampala/ Entebbe, you will meet up with our fully experienced driver guide who will enlighten you briefly about the fascinating trip. Using Kampala Masaka highway, Set off the engine heading to Kibale Forest national park. On the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator for refreshments and photography and Fort portal for Lunch. On arrival at the park, check in at the booked lodge relax, have dinner and rest.

Meal plan: full board.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Kick off the day with a morning breakfast and drive to Kayanchu park headquarters to meet other trekkers. Following a short briefing and registration, transfer to the trailhead and commence the trek. This can take you about 4 hours depending on the chimp’s movement. The trek will reward you with views of other primates like baboons, monkeys and bird species. You will be given 1 hour to be with chimps once you find them, drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, check out and transfer to the second largest park Queen Elizabeth full of scenic views. On arrival, check-in at the reserved lodge, have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

With packed breakfast, embark on a game drive to Ishasha in the South to glimpse the tree-climbing lions. Besides, you will be able to see other animals like hyenas, leopards in the savannah plains from which you will return to the lodge for lunch. After, enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Kazing Channel. Expect to see herds of hippos, crocodiles together with water birds like the fish eagle. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Departure.

On the final day of the trip, have breakfast at your pace and later transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe depending with en route at the Equator.
