Overview

The trip will first take you to Ngamba Island, a sanctuary on Lake Victoria where over 49 endangered and orphaned chimpanzees found rescue. The trip will also take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National park (home to the mountain gorillas) in Southwestern Uganda for the fascinating chimpanzee trekking when you penetrate into the park’s thick tropical forest.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Ngamba Island.
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet our guide and transfer to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWEC) where you will get a short briefing about the island. Proceed to Lake Victoria and enjoy a boat cruise to Ngamba Island. Expect to see the chimps feeding, playing and breast feeding giving you a lifetime moments. Later, meet the driver and depart the island to the city that never rests, Kampala. Check in at the reserved lodge have dinner and rest.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After morning breakfast, meet the driver and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Kisoro district. Along the way, you will have a stopover at the Equator for refreshments, and Mbarara town for lunch. Later, you arrive at the park where you will check in at the booked lodge for dinner and retire for a night.

Travel time: 8-9 hours.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
Begin the amazing day with an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed and registered. With the help of the guide, commence the search for mountain gorillas as you penetrate deep into the forest. Expect to see monkeys, tree species and different bird species. Once you find the gorillas, you will be given 1 hour to stay with them. In the evening, transfer back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure from Bwindi to Kampala.
On the last day of the safari, enjoy breakfast at your pace checkout of the lodge and transfer back to Kampala with enroute lunch in Mbarara. In the evening, transfer to the airport for your departure back home.
