Overview of Samburu
The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve which seats on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. samburu national reserve ranges in altitude from 800m to 1230m above sea level. Geographically, it is located in Samburu County. This reserve is strategically located and it has Ewaso Ng’iro river is the one that provides water that the national reserve wildlife survives on.
Ewaso Ng’iro which flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests because it is in the middle part of the reserve.
The Samburu National Reserve is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Samburu national reserve
The our driver will meet you in the morning in Nairobi, introduce himself and later start the journey to Samburu national park which is a great region with rare species like the Reticulated giraffes, grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx’s, Somali Ostrich, genenuk, vulturine, guinea fowl among others. Along the way you will encounter a lot that will feed your eyes and you will take pictures too. When You arrive, you will check in and freshen up, and have your lunch and after lunch head out for the afternoon game drive.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game Drive around Samburu national reserve
Wake up in the morning get ready for the early morning game drive which helps you to see the predators hunt and eat from their hunt/prey before they go into their hideouts since it will be getting to morning yet some of them are very active during dark hours. 
After the morning game drive, you will return for breakfast and later head out with packed lunch for the afternoon game drive which will last some hours till evening when you are ready to return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3. Transfer back to Nairobi
Wake up early in the morning, prepare for checkout, have your breakfast and then check out as you go for the early morning game drive. The morning game drive will take you up to like 11am and after you are ready for drop off in Nairobi for your journey back home.
