Overview

Murchison falls National Park is the largest and biggest national park in Uganda and it was established in 1952. The 2 days Murchison falls safari is a rewarding safari which you should not miss in your visit to Uganda. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls, Hike top of the falls and Boat cruise

Wake up at 6:00am and prepare for your 2 days safari to Murchison falls national park. Our company guide will pick you from the hotel at 6:30am after your morning breakfast to start off with journey tom Murchison falls. Drive through Kampala-Gulu high way via Luwero town as our guide narrates to you the historical information about Luwero district.

Proceed to Masindi town where you will have stopover to order for packed lunch. Drive through the dirty road to Murchison falls. It takes 30 minutes’ drive to reach park’s gates where you will be cleared. You will have en-route game drive as you are ushered in by line of playful monkeys and baboons waiting for fresh fruits from the guest.

You will then proceed to the top of the falls with beautiful view of green savanna vegetation and you will spot some wildlife. You will have picnic lunch from the top of the falls and after lunch; you will than start the activities. When at the top of the falls you will be rewarded with beautiful view of Nile water squeezing itself out of the tiny gorge while forming permanent rain bows. Murchison falls is awesome site, good for taking photos. Descend down and head for 3 hours boat cruise on the Nile with an opportunity of viewing several wildlife and water animals. Expect to see school of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles, buffaloes and other.  You will encounter more wildlife that slope to the River bank to drink water like school of elephants, water-buck, Uganda kobs, giraffes and many more. You will encounter plenty of bird species such as the herons, King fisher, shore-bill and eagles to list the few. Later in the evening have an en-route game drive as your heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and departure

Start the day with early morning cup of coffee before setting off for game drive. Our guide will pick you at 6:30am and drive for an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and hunters before they go back to their hide out. Murchison falls National Park has two part, southern part and Northern Park. Higher concentration of wildlife is found in the Northern part of the park than the southern part. For those clients lodging in the southern part of the park also head to the northern part by crossing with the ferry so as to catch up with abundance of wildlife. You should expect to see lions, zebras, hyenas, antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, hartebeest, leopards, water-buck and many others.

After game drive, return to the lodge where you will check-out with packed lunch and set off for journey back to Kampala. You will be drop either at the hotel or to Entebbe international airport to get your flight back home.
